Train Police

On my daily commute from the hotel at the airport to the office on the munich train system, I had a bit of excitement. This morning, my co-worker travelling with me offered to pay for my subway ticket, since it was her turn. Once she had picked the ticket to buy, she found out that her 50 Euro bill was not accepted in the machine, so I ended up paying, and taking the ticket.
This morning happened to be the morning which the Munich Transit police (also known as the black coats which sounds disturbing) were checking tickets on the train. Amanda passed the scrutiny easily, since she had the correct ticket for the route we were on. However, the first ticket that Amanda picked and I paid for was the wrong ticket (due to inability to read the german language) and we had to buy a new ticket at our next transfer point. Luckily we at least had a ticket for today, otherwise it is a steep fine.
Going home that night, I was also checked by the train police, and the second ticket I had purchased that day apparently wasn’t correct either. Luckily it was quite easy to peg me as a tourist and they let it slip.
