When at parties, Kristin likes to advertise the fact that I have 3 xboxes.  I figure since people usually say “What the hell” or words to that effect, I would explain it here, so hopefully I don’t have to do it again.

In my basement sits a windows media center pc, which faithfully records all the tv I want to watch, and the crap reality tv that Kristin likes to watch (henceforth known as CRTVTKLTW).  In order to watch the recorded tv, and CRTVTKLTW I use an xbox or xbox 360 to act as a media center extender (dumb client) to the pc.  The xbox or xbox 360 then plays back the recorded tv, as well as play any videos, music and slideshows we wish to watch.

Since I have three televisions scattered throughout the house, and hence an xbox connected to each one.  There is an original xbox in the kitchen, which we use to watch tv while cooking supper, and eating supper.  There is a xbox 360 in the family room, which is used for playing games, as well as dvd playback and media center duties.  The third xbox 360 is in the bedroom where it is used for dvd playback, and media center extender duties.
